Thank you!

What a great success the first annual Palmas del Mar Turkey Dash was! We had just under 200 people pre-registered between the 5k and 1-Mile event - far exceeding our initial participation goals! We had a great nautical themed vendor area with an Optimus Sailboat, kayaks, paddleboards and dinghies on display. There was also a hang glider that served as a great photo opportunity. The bounce house kept the kids busy, and the concession area ensured full tummies all morning long. A 6 piece steel drum band rounded out the event, leaving participants already looking forward to what's in store for next year. It is sure to be an event not to be missed!

Excellent photos are compliments of Joanne Jimenez.... Thanks Joanne!

And thanks to all the participants, vendors, and volunteers who helped make this event a successful beginning to a great community tradition!

Palmas del Mar AMGEN Turkey Dash 5k

Be a part of history in the making! Join us for the first annual Palmas del Mar Turkey Dash 5k and 1-mile Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 in beautiful Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico. Following the races will be a post-race party complete with lots of food (pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs and sweet treats), live steel drum band, inflatable jump house for the kids, and local vendors. There will also be a raffle with some exciting prizes.

The courses are fast and scenic, running along part dirt trail and mostly golf cart path along Palmas's Flamboyan golf course, finishing at the Palmas Academy.

The Turkey Dash 5k starts at 9a and the 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk starts at 9:30a. Both events start and finish at The Palmas Academy, and will go on rain or shine since we're not afraid of a passing tropical shower!

Packet pick-up will be at the Academy from 2:30p - 4p on Nov.14th. While you can pick it up on race day beginning at 8a, it is not encouraged!
